Service Engineer (m/f/x)

Your tasks – your challenges

As a service engineer, you’ll be at the front lines in providing remote and on-site technical support and problem-solving of customers’ installations, applications, and product configurations. You’ll work independently to deliver service activities, as well as system upgrades and extensions, including:

  • Hardware and software preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshooting of network and system problems
  • Configuring networks and systems for operations and support
  • Applications project design and implementation
  • Field commissioning and start-up support
  • Creating and managing documentation required for each service activity
  • Sales support
  • Supporting our team in the fields of cybersecurity and industrial internet
  • Training customers in the use of Valmet products.

Your qualifications – your competences

  • Relevant educational background such as Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or equivalent experience in the field of automation with similar DCS systems
  • Ability to work under pressure in different customer situations and in different cultural environments
  • Self-managed and ability to set your own daily and weekly priorities with the customer
  • Passion for applying world-class technology to our customers benefit
  • System knowledge of process control systems like Emerson, Siemens, ABB, etc. is an advantage but not a requirement
  • Good interpersonal skills are a must. Significant direct customer and inter-company interaction are required.
  • Fluent in English and Strong Dutch verbal and written communication skills a plus
  • A valid driving license (class B)
  • You work mainly in the Netherlands but there should be a willingness for limited travel within EMEA
